Dec 20 - Church - Evangelical Community Church

The Christian church is alive and well in Abu Dhabi.  All denominations share this building downtown, with services all day Friday ann Saturday and week evenings.  Remember that the weekends here are Friday and Saturday.  We had service at 10:15 am on Friday morning.  It was, of course, a Christmas service, being the last full service before Dec 25.  What was very interesting and  inspiring to us was the large number of nations and different skin colors represented. Truly a world church. The pastor's sermon was on the greatest Christmas gift of all - Jesus. and he unwrapped this gift as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

Dec 21 to Dubai

On the way to Dubai for shopping and maybe for Gary and Mike to go up the Burj Khalifa.  I'm sure we have some pictures of these buildings from our last visit, but it doesn't cease to amaze at the variety of architecture.

Yes, that building is really twisted.  At night, coming back home, the building has lights on the edges which shoot up every few seconds.

Eventually, first view of the Burj Khalifa, tallest building in the world with over 200 stories.

Got to our destination.  Gary lost the sole of his sandals.  One of the store attendants across the way fixed it with super glue, and arranged for Patty's watch (cracked crystal and missing wind stem) to be fixed for 50 Dh, about $13, in an hour.

Back form shopping.  Bought purses, watches, sunglassses, other Christmas gifts from a place where you can't take pictures. Now to drive to the Dubai Mall.

Got lots of photos of the Burj

Note how the men in white are separated from the women in black in this coffee shop
