Sept 23 - walk around Houlton, Maine

Today, we took the four-wheel track/snowmobile route around the back woods to town.

The track along the river even has its own bridge.

Now, back in town....

Sept 25 - Houlton, more

We get a ride back to the camp.  The colors are amazing.

Later, we get to go to an agricultural museum

How's this for a snowplow?

To top it off, a beautiful sunset

Sept 27 - Potato Harvesting

The dealership gets us a pickup to travel around.  We go to the fields a few miles away to see the potato harvesting.  This is big business here.  Even the high school students get a week or so off to help with the harvest.

Then to sort out the potatoes for the rocks before storage

One of our favorite meals in tone of the restaurants in town was a New England boiled dinner - potatoes, carrots, turnips, big chucks of ham.  The new local potatoes were so good - like a vegetable we had not eaten before.

Sept 27 - Drive to Presque Isle

Don't need words here...sit back and enjoy the ride.

Did you ever think it could be this bright?

Sept 28 - More of the same

The young man who fixed our truck

Sept 29 - Back o the road - the Maine coast

Finally back on he road.  Came back to camp for a day, then spent the rest of the day and the next along the Maine coast.

Got foggy/misty around the coast

Sept 30 - Towards Bar Harbor

Then, we see cruise ships - several of them.  We find out that thee are "fall color" cruises that go from Montreal to Quebec, up the St Lawrence to the Gaspe, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Bar Harbor, Cape Cod, Boston, New York and return.
